General Surgeon
Youssef W. Mourad, MD is a general surgeon who provides care for a broad range of general surgical conditions affecting the abdominal wall, gallbladder, appendix, and soft tissues. His practice includes hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, appendectomy, and the removal of skin and soft-tissue masses, with experience in both open and minimally invasive (laparoscopic) techniques.
Dr. Mourad earned his Doctor of Medicine at Jagiellonian University Medical College in Krakow, Poland. Before medicine, he completed undergraduate studies in biological sciences and education at the University of Alberta in Canada, where he also worked in education prior to his surgical career.
He completed his internship and residency in General Surgery at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in New York, and is pursuing further training in Surgical Critical Care at Northwell Health – Staten Island University Hospital. This background in the care of complex and critically ill surgical patients informs his attentive, thorough approach to each patient.
Dr. Mourad maintains an active interest in surgical research and education. He has contributed to peer-reviewed publications on general surgery and surgical oncology topics and has taught medical students and residents throughout his training.
