Dr. Ong has extensive training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and head and neck surgery. He practices exclusively on the face, head and neck region specializing in deviated septum surgery, sinus surgery and complex revision sinus surgery, rhinoplasty, facial trauma and fractures including broken noses, skin cancer reconstruction, head and neck cancer surgery including free flap microvascular surgery, sleep surgery as well as cosmetic facial surgery. In addition to his attention to detail, he is passionate about helping all his patients leave his office feeling confident about their procedure and positive about their outcome.
He is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the Triological Society, and the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He is board-certified surgeon through the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Ong is on staff and performs surgery at the Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, Lenox Hill Hospital, Midtown Surgery Center and Gramercy Surgery Center.
Dr. Ong began his career by obtaining a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry at Boston College, where he graduated cum laude. This was followed by his medical studies at the University at Buffalo in Western New York where he was honored as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Society. With a significant interest in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, Dr. Ong completed a clinical research fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina prior to completing his surgical training focused exclusively in head and neck surgery at the University at Buffalo. Prior to joining Norelle Health, Dr. Ong completed a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship in Fort Worth, TX, sponsored by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. During that time, he received intensive training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, ranging from rhinoplasty (including revision rhinoplasty), aging face surgery (face lifts, forehead lifts, eyelid lifts, and neck lifts), head and neck cancer surgery and reconstruction including free tissue microvascular surgery, skin cancer/Mohs reconstruction, facial trauma surgery, sleep surgery, and primary and revision sinus surgery. He is passionate about surgical education and advancing the field of head and neck surgery, and has numerous presentations and scientific publications.
Dr. Ong is excited to be back in New York City where he can provide the highest quality of care to the people of his hometown to help them look and feel their best. Outside of medicine, Dr. Ong enjoys trying new foods/restaurants, going to museums and Broadway shows, playing any racquet sport (tennis, pickleball, squash) and spending time with his friends and family.
