Dr. Moustafa Mourad MD, FACS

Double Board-Certified Head & Neck and Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon

Moustafa Mourad, MD, FACS is double board-certified in Head and Neck Surgery and in Facial Plastic Surgery and Reconstruction. A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, he treats a wide spectrum of conditions, both cosmetic and complex, that affect the head, neck, and the entire facial region.

Dr. Mourad has carefully developed his clinical skills with a deep understanding of how much a person's appearance can shape their confidence and quality of life. His goal is to deliver aesthetic results that look natural and stand the test of time, whether a patient is considering a straightforward cosmetic procedure or requires an advanced level of facial reconstruction following cancer or trauma.

He has always had a strong sense of facial balance and harmony. Combined with years of subspecialty training, this aesthetic awareness is central to his approach to care for each patient.

Dr. Mourad earned his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He went on to receive advanced surgical training at respected institutions including Beth Israel Medical Center and the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, where he served as chief resident in otolaryngology with a focus on head and neck surgery, before completing an additional year of aesthetic and advanced facial plastic and reconstructive surgery training with facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Yadranko Ducic, where he refined the techniques he brings to his New York City patients today.

His clinical leadership includes serving as Chief of Head & Neck and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery at James J. Peters Hospital in New York City, and as Chief of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and the TJH Medisys Health Network.

Beyond the operating room, Dr. Mourad is an active researcher and educator. He has authored or co-authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and several book chapters spanning otolaryngology, facial plastic surgery, and head and neck oncology, and he continues to teach and mentor surgical residents and fellows. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Head and Neck Society.
